Satisfaction

26 February 2003 - 9:54 p.m.

Roughly 2 years ago, I went shopping in town with a friend.

She pointed out a dragon tapestry in a craft shop, as she knew that I was looking for one to do (I collected dragons, I did sewing - it made sense).

I bought it, and trotted off home wondering if I was actually going to see it finished, ever.

I really started doing the work on it during the summer that has just gone, and watched the picture build up gradually. Colour by colour, stitch by stitch, skeletal forms appearing on the material.

I am now feeling pleased with myself, as the hours of stabbing myself everywhere with the rather sharp needle have paid off.

Although the tape (to stop the edges fraying) took a long time to peel off.

It has been ironed flat, and is now waiting for a frame.

In the meantime, I have the feeling I will be carting it around to show the people who saw it build over the summer.

It's such a relief to finally get it finished, very satisfying, and yet it is the end of my little project.

Anyway, I'm off to find a frame.....

Wait, go back a bit! - Onward ho!

E 's hugs
