This afternoon, after work, we sat on the decking, basking in the warm rays of the sunshine.
A familiar yet foreign noise came into earshot, and as it became louder, the source came into view.
A wonderfully huge queen hornet landed on the rope surrounding the wooden decking. I have never before seen something that could kill a man up that close before. I will probably never see another one in my lifetime, but I wish Her Majesty all the best.
