I am sat here trying to determine whether to cook some mini sponges now, or leave them until tomorrow after work, which I know will be a bad idea...
I spent the entire morning trying to work out how to do gelatin bubbles. I have already decided that I will never be doing them again! What an absolute faff!!
As well as the bubbles, I managed to throw together some marshmallow cheesecakes. I say a few - I now have 12 muffin-sized and 1 9" cake tin-sized... Methinks there will be plenty left for the birthday party I now have to go to directly after the baby shower on Saturday.
I have sat here for an hour or two, wrapping gifts that had been left close by. Only 3 people to go, and then I'm done! However, again I may take a break from the task, and instead reminisce.
The xmas party last week was nice. I actually enjoyed the entire evening, bar the main course which was sub-par and very disappointing, but free so can't complain too much. The live band - apart from being incredibly, incredibly Welsh and sporting really bad taste jumpers, were fabulous and I'd happily see them again! It seems there are a few people who remember me from last year, and a few new faces to throw into the mix. I also walked in heels like I have never done before. They actually felt natural, in a walking-on-tiptoes-whilst-balanced-on-points kind of a way.
Gray and I left as the disco started. Neither of us were bothered about the casino, as it was far too crowded. We got back in the car and drove the hour back to Gray's flat. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep...
We spent the rest of the weekend catching up on sleep, having a 2-course Italian meal on his company in lieu of the hours of our holiday he was kept on the phone. We caught a film at the cinema before we headed back to mine on Sunday. He stayed long enough for me to cook a meal and we watched a few episodes of a Marvel series and then he headed back to the city.
Tuesday saw the dressing of the cafe for the festive season. It was tiresome, but for once I let one of the minions do most of it. It was nice for someone else to get stuck in and do it, as I am always left with the job.
Yesterday, I started on the house. The tree and a few small bits are up. Just a few small flourishes and the outdoorsy bits to go. I listened to the traditional combination of space rock, hip hop and alternative, generally loud music to get me through.
I went to bed last night because of pain again from knotted muscles. I can feel the headache coming back...
I at least know it is not caused by my eyes - PERFECT EYESIGHT!! Well, +.25 in one eye, but that's a hell of a load better than the last test!
